Hey folks,

This is my first post and I've been doing a lot of searching and I cannot figure out what is wrong. First off, I installed a Viper 5904 to my 2009 Honda Accord LX. After everything was wired, I programmed my pkall, paired my remote, set my transmission mode. This is where the fun begins... I decided to try out the remote start, pushed the button, heard a cheerful acceptance by the remote, heard the engine crank... Cars panic went off, so the only way to stop the panicking was to disconnect the power wire to the alarm, and yes, I tried the battery, and no, it didn't shut the car up. So now, every time I connect the alarm to test again, it'll automatically crank the car, over, and over, and over, as well as the panic. Should I just have the pkall reset and the firmware reloaded?

"Car's panic went off" are you talking about the factory alarm or the 5904?

Yeah, but my model doesn't have a stock alarm. It's just equipped with the transponder and engine cutoff. I can manually unlock the car by just reaching through the window while its "armed." Thanks for the reply!

I've also unhooked my sirens and plugged everything back in to reset the brain and remote, but I get the same results. I used the reset procedure from the 5904 manual.

Use the Excell file as shown on the top of this forum and list your connections to the vehicle wires, maybe we can spot something.

Ok, I'll post my connections later tonight. My wife would kill me for spending more time troubleshooting this alarm on Mother's Day. Lol

Here's what I have so far. Sorry for the pics, doing everything from my phone.

3 things stand out immediately.
1) By-pass? Isn't one needed for this vehicle. 556UW
2) Key sense use the H2/9 dark blue for both by-pass and keysense, white at ignition switch plug and diode separate.
3) H3/7 Pink/white to red at ignition loom program it as ACC 2.

Next question does the factory alarm kick off or the 5904 because you also need to disable the factory alarm.

Disarm brown (key unlock) and white (unlock detection).
Diode separate, double pulse NEG (-) power window master switch, gray 37 pin plug, pins 29 and 31.

Give me a bit and I'll post up my connections for the bypass.

Are you sure no factory alarm?
Open a rear side window then using the factory remote, press the lock button twice.
Wait about a minute then reach in and open that back door. See if any alarm get's triggered.

Sorry, I didn't pry into my wiring when I posted the chart. I did have the blue/white wire from the bypass connected to H2/9.

It's the factory alarm going off.

Now when you say diode separate, is that different than the diode isolate I did? Could you go into how I should diode separate H2/9 as well (cathode/anode position)?

So now look at what I wrote concerning the factory alarm and apply it.

Diode isolate/diode separate are the same.

Thanks for the diagram!

I'll make the adjustments tonight. Now, when I reconnect everything, the car cranks and and panics. When I have all the connections in and corrected, is there something I should do to stop it, or will it stop itself? I disconnected my sirens and tried it and let the car crank, but even after the motor started, it kept going. The battery terminal was sparking like crazy as well, even burned some scars into the battery post. This just worried me because the hood is open, and hood pin is up.

When I did reset the brain and remotes, I tried to reprogram the system. I could only get the first 4 menus.

That does not sound right. Take the fuses out of the 5904 harness and reconnect the negative terminal last. Make sure the car is working correctly before going too much further. At least this way when you reinsert the fuses you can hit the brake to hopefully stop the 5904 from cranking. posted_image

Thanks for the advice James!

I haven't had the chance to readjust my connections as howieII had advised. So when I do, I should:

1. Make my connections
2. Remove harness fuses
3. Reconnect ground
4. Make sure everything's right with the car
5. If so, reconnect fuses

Just want to be completely sure before I try and finish it up. Have really been sitting on this project for a while now and I want the next shot at it to be the final step. posted_image

*UPDATE*

Okay, I've taken the advice and put everything where it should be. The only thing I haven't done is the programming. It's 12:52 AM here so siren chirping coming from the connected garage probably is a thing shunned upon. As far as the cars automatic cranking, seems solved.

A problem I am noticing now is the parking lights are on, and I'm guessing the cars horns would like to blow as well, but I've disconnected them for now. This happening makes me feel as if its an OEM alarm, but I know for sure this model isn't equipped with one.

Another problem I'm noticing is the lock/unlock feature on the alarm isn't working. I've diode isolated (cathodes toward the car) both the brown and white wires on the power lock switch. I believe the default setting for the alarm is to engage the lock/unlock with the arm/disarm, so I'm ruling out programming as the issue.

I forgot to mention that the status light on the antenna stays on even through the drive.
