Hey guys, its been a real long time since I did a remote start install and just need a little help since I am pretty rusty. I have also never done a vehicle with push button start. Can you guys tell me if I got this right?

RDX wires are on the left. 5704 wires are on the right

It would probably be a good idea to use a flash module that handles everything through data for remote starting and keyless entry ,and alarm but I don't think secure takeover is available on this vehicle . Idatalink CA maybe ? The install looks pretty straightforward .

The Red ,RED / Black and RED / White wires are 12v input and needs to be connected to a 12v source like the White wire from the power control unit. The second accessory wire in the car (Purple) while it may not be necessary to be connected but if you have to on the H2 harness on the 5704 (H2/22) it's an Orange wire (-) 200 mA accessory output , you can use this with a relay to power the second accessory wire.

5704 is installed on 2013 RDX with push start. An FLCAN was used.

Is it normal for the car to unlock when remote start is used?

1. Car is locked and system is armed.
2. I remote start, doors unlock but system stays armed
3. I turn off remote start and the doors lock back, system remains armed.

All while factory key fob is nowhere near the proximity of the car

How do I get the doors to stay locked while remote start is engaged?

depends on the remote start, some tell the bypass to unlock, start, restart. you might want to double check programming.

go into the unit settings and set it to lock after start.

I got it working. I totally overlooked the setting on the remote start menu. I also think that my factory key fob was too close to the vehicle to make sure it was working correctly.

Thanks!
