On the ignition switch harness from the car you will find a Grey wire this is your Accessory wire that controls the heater and other stuff , this wire needs to be connected to the Orange wire from the Alarm"s ignition harness.

Probably a good idea to post what wires from the alarm you connected to what wires in the car!&

kreg when you say set to ignition 2. where is ignition 2 (blue/red)actually is. is this why my dash board light does not come on?
is this also the reason why my dome light does not come on when you arm/disarm, remote starts? i will try this out and i will let you know. thanks for the help

The Blue/Red wire should be another wire in the main ignition switch harness, where you found the other ignition wires. As always, test for it with your DMM and make quality solder connections. posted_image

You might have a bad ground. Check the voltage between your ground point and any of the fuses.
Or, you're in valet mode.

the domelight supervision output is limited to 250ma, whereas the dome light in the car draws well over an amp easily. Since its a tungsten filament in the bulb it can still be lit with 250ma and not draw the max current.

use a relay to increase the current on the domelight output.
85 - domelight output from unit
86 - constant 12v fused
87 - chassis ground
30 - dome light wire in car.
