Okay,

So looking for opinions on using D2D (2way) or W2W on Fortin EVO-ALL and Autostart/ProStart RS?

Is D2D reliable?

from the Fortin website you can use D2D with Fortin/Autostart if you enable it in the R/S config as xpresskit. confusing since it does have Fortin as an option.

Also the RS is equipped with two bypass ports one for ADS/Fortin Bypass and one for xpresskit. Which one do I use? The Tharness from fortin has both connectors. Can I plug in both?posted_image

Time to install is not a problem so I can W2W but just wanted some insight from the pros.

Thanks

I don't use ProStart, so I have no direct knowledge / experience of their functionality with D2D.

I have heard that D2D is working better.  Used to be a major headache.  It still will be difficult to test / troubleshoot if it gives you problems.

As long as the EVO-ALL is flashed with the DBI D2D option selected, it should work in two-way D2D mode with your ProStart.  The ProStart does have the Red DBI D2D port ( and you should only plug the EVO-ALL harness into this port, not both ).  Give it a try, it shouldn't damage anything and if it has problems you can always switch over to W2W mode.

When using Fortin protocol, the datalink communication is only 1-way. Meaning, the remote start will send info to the bypass through the datalink, but the remote starter will not read info from the bypass through datalink.

When using the EVO-ALL from Fortin, you can have it use D2D instead of the Fortin protocol by changing the options via the Flash-Link Manager.

Did this ever get solved.

I am also using an evo-all with a pro-start CT3271.

how do I set the pro-start to D2D mode?

Should I plug the EVO into the expresskit port? as mentioned above.

Thanks
