I have a DEI 451m module (its 2 realys wired up) and I'm lost on the wiring type for this vehicle. I wired it using type B (ground pulses for driving factory relays)as the inputs for the lock and unlock are negative, but I don't get any response. So I've been searching all over to find the correct polarity I'm suppose to use as I don't have a test light nor a voltmeter.

Lock/unlock colours as follows:- RED / black, ORANGE / black at door switch.
Question? What alarm or R/S are you installing?
You will need the 451 for some types not others hence the question.

autopage rs-730. So I can just directly connect the wires to the door switch instead of using the 451m?

Never seen this unit here in the UK. If the lock/unlock outputs are flip/flop, i.e. both NEG and POS, then you must use the 451. If straight low current NEG then wire direct.
If you must in that circumstance use the 451, then wire it thus:-
RS 730 lock to thin green, RS 730 unlock to thin blue, thin red fused 1 amp to constant. If not a dedicated socket.
WHITE/ black, BROWN / black don't use.
Purple and PURPLE / black to a good ground.
Green to RED / black and blue to ORANGE / black at the door switch.

But the thin red wire is a +12V output not input. I had the 451m wired just as you say, but nothing. Unless I have to reprogram the remote????

The thin red is the input to the 451, it's the + side of the relay coils. Should either go to a dedicated white socket on the RS 730 or a constant.

I just looked at page 4 of the install guide, simply plug in the 451 and wire it as I said above.

Thanks I connected the wires directly without using the 451m and it worked like a charm. Now I need to figure out what to use this 451m for instead of letting it sit around

Hmm I'd have dioded those wires, that diagram shows them as flip/flops. In-line 1N4004 diodes bands to RS 739 to protect it's circuitry.

What diagram are you looking at? 97 and up buicks use a negative polarity. 97 and down are positive along with a few other gm vehicles. I remember back when I wired my 92 bonneville which did have a positive lock trigger and negative unlock (or it's reversed, can't remember off hand).

It doesn't matter. I mentioned the wire colours and their polarity earlier. The diodes are for protection of your R/S circuits, you don't have to fit them.
