dei your valet won’t stay unlocked

I have an older DEI Your Valet installed in my son's Mitsubishi 3000GT. Its tied into the alarm and he uses it for his remote door locks.

I had the car in the shop for about a month while I was repainting it and the battery went down to almost nothing. I charged the battery and all was well....well almost well.

Now, when he hits the unlock/lock button (two button remote. 1 button to lock/arm and the same button to unlock/disarm) it will lock and arm fine but when he hits it again the car will unlock briefly and then lock again immediately. So he presses the button and the door unlocks....1 second later it re-locks.

Suggestions????

Try pulling the power again for a minute or so. If that doesn't work perhaps a reprogram is in order.

If that doesn't work what is involved with a reprogram?

Obtaining the instructions, finding the necessary valet/program button (if applicable), and setting options and/or relearning remotes by following the instructions. Not difficult if you can follow instructions and the valet/program button is installed (if applicable).

First thing would be to scour the internets for the install/programming manual for your particular model valet.

Could it be the microswitch in a master door lock is faulty, have you tried with the key?
