Hi, I have a command start system that was installed on a 1994 Dodge Caravan 3.0 litre. This system is incorporated as an engine disabler as well (no power locks on vehicle except electric rear hatch) It was operating quite fine until recently I noticed the red warning light on the dash wasn't working. I tried one of the remotes and it wasn't activating the remote start, therefore I assumed that the system wasn't working period. I had tried the toggle switch under the dash and it didn't do much either. I have been however able to start the vehicle manually with the key. Just today I accidentally tried the second remote and heard the vehicle start up. Well it seems from this that the system is in fact working via the remote start part at least, which now alerts me to the battery in one of the remotes being dead.
Now to the other part why isn't the warning light working and also disabling the manual start at the key?
This system has the two button beeping remotes and I can make out the model of the remote is a CS-555.
What model is this command start system and can I obtain wiring diagrams as well as operating and or service manuals for this system.
This system has been fairly reliable and isn't cost effective to replace in this vehicle at this point in time so i wish to keep it the same for a while longer. The installation company who installed this system is no longer operating.
Thanks very much for any information.
Regards,
Ron

I would say the system is configured for active arming. So since you didn't arm it last with your dead remote it remained unarmed.
