I am officially pulling my hair out trying to hook up a simple kill switch on my 2011 GMC Sierra. I have checked and cut every pink wire under the column with no results. I have check the diagram back at the bcm to the ign wire on the green plug #14 pink wire cut it still cranks. I see on the bcm plug it shows ign 1 and ign 2 so if I cut one is the other lead feeding it still? I guess I have got to old for this, not like it was in the nineties. Cut big yellow or purple and you were done. Somebody help this middle aged guy have some hair left. Thanks Michael

Top of my head I'd guess your looking for an output from a control unit going to either a starter relay or direct to the solenoid, under the hood (fuse or relay box?) would be my best bet.

Guess what. I just checked with Directechs and I was right.
Purple, starter or underhood fuse box, black 50 pin plug, pin F1

I was hoping to find a wire that was in the cab but if I need to go through the firewall I can. Thanks

Many modern vehicles use data in the cab, don't touch!

For liability reasons, you never want to interrupt an Ignition wire.   Starter wire is the only safe way to disable a vehicle.

Make sure you make a very good connection on the pink wires you cut.

I guess you don't trust the factory immobilizer.

Catback, that's why our biggest amount of installs are BMW, Audi Focus RS and RangeRover.
All with factory alarm. Skeleton key, OBD reader with immobiliser by-pass software.

Stolen without keys? I'd like to see your figures. Car Jacking of newer cars here does happen but thieves of the night breaking into and stealing ANYTHING with a factory immobilizer circa 2000 and up is virtually non-existant.

Howie: Never heard of such things and thieves here aren't into high-tech electronics anyway. Our top stolen vehicles are all popular old model vehicles that have no form of factory immobilizer.

Horses for courses, Audi RS4 for the leather Recaros.
In North America it was normally steal the car for the chop shop, in Europe, break in and steal valuables.
We have a larger version of the Transit, since 1965. In 2000 they went cable locks, the lock mechanism is in a riveted box the only way to steal it was with a cloned key.
Laptop/tablet with say BMW and Audi software, £10,000 ($15k) steal 3 cars and it's paid for.

Well yeah a dealer can always steal your car but thieves here aren't tech savy and a thief BUYING a laptop and necessary software that costs £10,000 ($15k) for the purpose of stealing, really?

Stealing valuables from inside the car, well a starter kill won't do anything about it either.

Even with a starter kill because you don't have faith in a factory immobilizer: A) One of those high-tech thieves that can get by the immobilizer can get by a low-tech starter kill, and B) A thief with brains and/or money would probably just tow your car/truck away.
