Hi guys,

Recently bought a car which is equipped with a Derringer2 alarm system probably dating back to the early 90ties. Everything is working fine, so I see no need to replace it with something new, the only downside is that my neighbors start complaining about the (quite loud) chirps upon arming/disarming the alarm. The manual says chirp function can be disabled, but there is no hint on how to do so. Neither I could find any advise in the www, so I wonder if anyone here might know how to set the system on "silent arm/disarming" or could provide an installation manual.

Thanks for any info, Brgds

Alex

I installed a bunch of VSE alarms in the late eighties, but don't remember how to eliminate the chirp. I may have a manual tucked away at another location, but it might be days before I can get there to look for it.

For some reason I remember jumpers inside that unit, but it may also be as simple as holding down the arm button for more than two seconds, and/or using the key and valet switch. Like I said, I really don't remember, but will look for it as soon as I get the chance.
