I bought a used car (2007 saturn ion) with an avital 4103 installed. I cant get the unit to start. I fount the brain and bought a valet switch. As far as i can tell there is no D2D installed. It also looks like they bypassed the hoodpin switch.

When i try to start the car using the remote the dash will light up, things will click and lights will flash but the car wont start. It wont start if i have the key set to on in the ignition. Every time i try the starter, I am unable to start the car with the key for about 5-10 min (i haven't really timed it).

I have tried to reprogram the remote using the valet switch, but it didn't seem to do anything (no chirps or honks when i tried).

I did get the shutdown diagnosis to work and it flashed 3 times. according to the manual: "Low or no RPM, Low battery (for voltage & virtual tach modes)" I searched a bit, but haven't been able to find exactly what this means and how to fix it.

If anyone can help i would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks!

With the car not starting for 10 mins after a remote start attempt. I would say your bypass module isn't working.   There should be another module someplace under the drivers dash. Try and find out what was used.

Ill have to check again in the morning when there is more light, but i really didnt see anything that looked like it was connected to the brain. I followed most of the connections that i could get too. Could it be installed closer to the cars ignition?
