I need to replace a db-all that has failed. The brake output is toast, so it wont start my car anymore. I was going to replace it with a db-all2 but I want to make sure the harnesses are the same. I have used both in the past on different vehicles, but never paid much attention to the harnesses. Are they the same?

They are nearly identical but main thing you have to look out for is wiring changes between old and current firmware. So regardless of if connectors are perfectly identical, you need to go through the wiring and ensure it's wired up correctly for the firmware you'll have on the new unit - this is true even if you were to replace the DBALL with a DBALL.

I would be using the same firmware on the new device. I used an old dball from an old vehicle a few months ago for my new car. I checked and it was the same firmware version as when I installed it. Thanks for the quick reply!!!!

I must be honest the only time a DB-ALL/DB-ALL2 fails after initially working in my experience are two things, software change on the vehicle either by owner or dealer, battery change.

Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first. I am not a free install service.
Read the installation manual, do a search here or online for your vehicle wiring before posting.
