Hi everyone,
I have a question for the gurus of remote starter installation. Today I wanted to remove a old defective Compustar remote starter with a Blade-AL bypass on it. After reconnecting my battery I tried putting my key in the ingnition and wasn't able to turn the key, the immobiliser light was flashing. I had to reconnect the 12v constant, ground and the 2 wire for the bypass on the remote starter in order to be able to start my car. Is it normal that my key is not working by itself?

Thank you

When you say you weren't able to turn the key do you mean physically not able to ? Was there any cut wires going to the immobilizer ring that the bypass was tapped into ?   The truck should start normaly using the key.

The key couldn't move in the tumbler and the 2 wires (TX,RX) were just solder on, so no wire were cut. The system was really basic no kill starter or anything like that.

Not sure what to tell you the bypass has nothing to do with the physical turning of the key. There's nothing electrically connected to the ignition cylinder itself that would prevent the cylinder from turning.

It's really weird I can not explain it myself to what does two wires do exactly.

The two wires tx and rx are the transmit and receive wires for the antenna ring on the ignition switch for the anti theft system
