3x lock start

So I bought a 03 suburban which had a remote start but the dash display wasn't working the remote start in it was not a great one so I want to put one in I already have bypasskit gmdlbp from the truck so that should be good to go. My question is does it support the 3x lock start feature with the oem remote? Directed says as of Oct they don't support that firm ware for it any more unless it already was flashed. Now can I know if if it's already setup or not? Or can I set it up still to use it? My Tahoe has the 3x lock enabled and it's great having just the one remote. Thank you in advance

Don't believe gmdlbp ever supported 3x lock start. But you can just use the lock motor wire and wire it to your activation input. Then set the number of pulses to 3.

The lock motor wire is POS (+), OP will have to relay it back to NEG (-).

The only way to make that truck start by pressing 3X lock is to fully install a remote starter, and then wire up its activation input so that the wire going to the doorlock motor trips the input on the remote starter.

As metz and howie said, you could install something like an Avital 4103 or 4113, then use a relay to turn your Suburban's (positive) doorlock motor wire to a negative, then connect your relay's output to the activation input on the Avital.

Honestly----the only reason to do this would be either to save money on a bypass module, or because you're in love with the appearance of the OEM remotes. And the OEM remotes don't have very good range. And you already have a quality (even if a little old school), full-feature bypass/door lock module.

So, making the OEM remote activate the remote starter is actually going to be a little extra work than just doing it the regular way.

If you're looking for something really nice (but with terrible installation manual), look at the new Audiovox Prestige APS57E. More range than before, small brain, beautiful remotes. Note: This model does not have the option to connect to the lock motor wire in your car.

If you think you want to activate from the OEM remotes, get an Avital 4103 and use the relay as described above.

Thank you for the responses. The primary reason I asked is just for curiosity more then any thing else. Its safe to assume that regardless of the remote start I use the bypass will work just fine?
