previous post has been mostly taken care of, but now im on to a few other issues i am having.

98 grand cherokee
viper 5806V
DEI 455T

the remote will unlock/disarm, as well as lock/arm - however, on lock/arm the orange LED lights up, and give an error beep (even though the vehicle is locked and armed)

the relay needed for the 455T to interrupt the door trigger - this phantom "yellow wire" in the drivers kick panel i cannot find. i was told that it was coming out of the door MOLEX, but the only yellow wires are yellow/black and yellow/white - no straight yellow other than an ABS wire in the same area.

also, trying to remote start (which requires a long press/hold, instead of a single quick press) flashes the lights 7 times, indicating MTS issue - vehicle is auto, NSS wire is grounded. im assuming i have to somehow disable MTS on the viper unit?

two options: diode isolate each door trigger at the 14pin plug @ BCM. tan, tan/red, tan/orange, and tan / YELLOW

OR

Menu 2, Item 4, Option 2 will ignore door trigger for 10 seconds when arming.

as far as the 7parking light flashes, the unit comes defaulted for manual.
Go to menu 3-1-option 2 for automatic.

thanks for the help - so with that i can abandon the door trigger relay altogether?

do you have any input on enabling priority unlock? there is not dedicated "2nd unlock" wire, even though the alarm is supposedly capable of it (is also mentioned in the manual) - im guessing it may require a bitwriter?

the unit is capable, but you will need to do some additional wiring.

Driver unlock motor Dark Blue (REV) @ BCM
85 - secondary unlock from viper
86 - constant 12v
87 - constant 12v
cut driver motor wire
87a - bcm side
30 - motor side

I haven't used the new viper since they changed the brain, so maybe Howie can chime in on this? Wiring guide doesn't say much.

well im using the 455T which sends quite a few commands over the twisted pair - including driver unlock and all unlock

the 455t will do driver unlock, but you need to provide the input from the viper.

i believe the default is aux 1 for primary unlock on newer viper.
WHITE/ violet (-) Viper to Blue/White (-) 455T
blue (-) viper to Blue (-) 455T

okay, i have almost everything taken care of, and very much appreciate the help!

hooked the door trigger in to a courtesy light yellow wire (which had previously been tapped, as it t urns out!) with the relay as per 455t instructions.

the lock error was due to hood pin setting (for simplicity ATM i jsut grounded the hood pin wire, will be fixed later)

remote start was set to auto

priority unlock was hooked up and changed in settings, works perfectly.

ONLY issue - if i use the remote start, the ABS and air bag lights are on until a few seconds after i turn the key and hit the brake - assuming im just missing a single ignition harness wire.

here is viper layout...

pin - color - description

1 - NC - NC
2 - RED / Black - Fused 12V accessory/starter input
3 - Pink/Black - flex relay input 87a key side (if required)
4 - Pink/White - ignition 2/flex relay output
5 - Red - fused 12v ignition 1 input
6 - Green - Starter input (key side of kill)
7 - Violet - Starter output (car side of kill)
8 - Orange - Accessory output
9 - RED / White - fused 12v ignition 2 / flex relay input 87
10 - Pink - Ignition 1 input/output

my connections to the jeep
1 - NC
2 - RED / White
3 - NC
4 - NC
5 - RED / White
6 - (forget what color, but it works)
7 - Yellow
8 - RED / Black
9 - NC
10 - Blue/Grey

jeep ignition switch pins
1 - yellow - ignition switch output (st)
2 - dark blue/grey - ignition switch output (st-run)
3 - grey/black - red brake warning lamp driver
4 - RED / white - B+
5 - BLACK/ orange - ignition switch output (run)
6 - RED / black - ignition switch output (run-acc)
7 - RED / white - fused b+

it looks to me like i have to move the accessory (viper orange) to the jeeps BLACK/ orange, and put the ignition 2 (viper pink/white) to the jeeps RED / black?
