I've installed a few Avital 4103 units into two 2012 F-150s this winter. On one of the trucks, when the user starts pit stop mode to keep the engine running, the remote start unit doesn't seem to "shut off" when the user comes back and puts the key back in and hits the brake. Basically, his vehicle always stays running but when he gets to his final destination, he takes the key out of the ignition and his truck's engine continues to run. The only way to kill the truck is to hit the button on his remote.

I'm completely baffled on why this happens because his brake is properly wired up. For instance, if he remote starts the truck and hits the brake without a key, it kills the vehicle.

Has anybody else experienced this before or possibly know what the issue could be? I'm guessing the Avital unit is malfunctioning in some way. Thanks.

did you use a fortin interface module Or just an immobilizer module ?

I've had issues with the 4013 and fortin d2d.

No sir. I used the XpressKit PKTX bypass unit. Everything was wired directly. Did not use the data port.

Check the connection to the footbrake switch.
