2000 Pontiac Bonneville Tach Lock Out Problem

I installed a remote starter on a 2000 Pontiac Bonneville. it was a soundstream ARS.2 with an xpresskit DBALL. the alarm can't seem to detect a tach signal. The tach signal should be supplied by the DBALL but I'm guessing its too weak so it might not be able to read it. My question is, would it work if I connect the tach input straight to the vehicle's PCM instead of the dball. Or would that somehow throw the whole thing off? Also what are the normal symptoms when the alarm cant read a tach signal? Because in my case the car won't crank at all, all I hear is the fuel pump start up but doesn't crank, followed by 7 light flashes indicating "tach lock out". Everything else works fine including lock, unlock, trunk release, its just the remote start function i m having issues with. Any help will be highly appreciated.

no crank would indicate the unit is not sending a start signal.
crank but no turn over is most likely immobilizer
short crank or too long of a crank indicates tach issue

i would meter your starter wire output from the unit, check if its even working

Good point. So you suggest I probe the starter wire coming from the alarm at the same time I push the button on the remote to start, correct?

i'm not familiar with soundstream but some units you have to "learn tach" before they will attempt remote start-check the manual.
