Hello All, I'm looking at getting a 2 way Viper remote start with start smart (maybe). My issue is i'm getting so many conflicting answers that should be simple. When this is fully installed will i need both FOB's (the kia factory and the viper) Ive been told no youll just use the Viper and ive been told (in majority)Ill need to carry both FOB's. Can someone here please give me a straight answer. They will be using the ADS bypass.

Both.
If you keep just the Viper FOB, the only way to start the car will be via remote start.

Not an urban myth because it happened to a friend.
Wife gets into her car forgets the FOB and drives away. He then gets a call, she's turned off, get's out of car and realises she's left the FOB at home, can't start, he had to come down and rescue her.
My own car has prox key and PTS, I hate it.
Also here in the UK, ALL PTS cars are dead easy to steal, you can't insure Range Rovers/BMWs in Central London unless vehicle is in a lock-up garage.
They grab the FOB UHF remote lock/unlock then spoof the diagnostic socket.
If you add remote start make sure you buy remote start + security such that the start circuit is immobilised.
