Avital 5303L and PKALL installed by Avital dealer on 2012 Ford Focus in 2012. Worked fine until November 2014, when the battery starting dying. Avital dealer verified the RS was the problem and replaced it. Now it's doing it again.

Besides doing the battery drain test with a meter, does anyone have any suggestions? Is this a common issue with Avital or all RS? I've heard on other forums that DEI stuff is junk now that they have it made in China instead of Taiwan. Is there any possibility something is wired wrong? Or is it more likely another failed unit?

Thanks in advance!

Well I decided to do a parasitic battery drain test. After 13 minutes, the load goes down to about 40 mA, even with the alarm system in the circuit. Don't think it's the alarm this time. Maybe last time the alarm module went bad, it damaged a cell. The battery is less than 3 years old, and all the autozone type shops said the battery tested good. After my afternoon of testing on a fully charged battery, without the car having run or any lights being on, etc., the battery voltage had dropped to 10.5V. Methinks this battery is toast.
