Good day all/Howie!

I just wanted to know if the wiring of the the yaris 2006 model is exactly the same as the 2007 yaris.I've found the wiring info for 2007 on this site but just wanted to make sure.I'm installing a C/locking upgrade alarm module on this vehicle,it has keyless entry on the key,I need to get signal from the motor wires and also need to connect the sense wire to the key unlock wire. Can you also tell me what this mean (lock motor wire - yellow to orange) (unlock motor wire - pink to blue)that's for the 2007 model. So basically I just need to know if I can follow the wiring info for the 2007 model hatch,no info found for 2006.thanks in advance

Why would you need motor wires? C/Locking triggers (-) are found in the driver's kick panel, or body control adjacent to inst. panel.
Key sense probably yellow/black, this wire goes to ground when the key is inserted. Located adjacent to immobiliser ring on ignition switch.
PS motor wires probably in same plug as central locking in driver kick panel.

I'm sorry for the little info. The alarm I'm linking up to existing factory keyless entry does not come with remotes,so i'm using the motor wires to switch the alarm on and of reversing polarity.I'm talking about the unlock switch wire,in order for the alarm to sense and not to disarm when moving the door knob.Sorry once again.talking about the ignition sense wire, why would an installer need that wire? For which purpose is it in vehicle security,I've never used it,is it used for remote start?thanks for the reply,i'll test around at the pin plucks

Appologies for asking such stupid questions, should have searched through the site 1st.I am finnaly done with the installation.its really amazing how you can reduce your installation time by doing all connections at the fusebox and kick panel. Doing research really helps a lot.I studied the pinout positions tested and connect like a pro.little did the the client know its my 1st time installing a security system in a yaris.took me one 1 and half hours including soldering.posted_image I don't know if its still long but to me its quick compare to my other installations

It's good, the very first took me 3 hrs, a voyage of discovery, got it down to 45 mins. with ultrasonics.
There was no technical info back when it came out in Europe 04? Now the trick is to look at the alarm makers' install guides and work from there.
In your case you have to be very careful, the norms are US and Euro markets but S. American, S. African and S.E. Asia e.g. most pick up trucks come from Thailand, they can all vary, central locking, no central locking etc., different ignition colours so test.
Most Mazdas e.g. 2, 3 and 6 are Ford Fiesta, Focus and Mondeo but there are many wiring variations.

Ignition sense is used on remote start installs notably Honda and Toyota. When the engine is running the factory and aftermarket fobs won't unlock the door. Grounding that wire from the alarm or remote start enables the lock/unlock from the remotes because the body control module thinks the key is in the ignition.

I have notice what you saying about the wire color changes.since then I'm testing all wires before making connections.thanks for that, will also take it up more seriously. About the ignition sense wire,it makes 100% sense now, learning everyday.Technology is very slow here.I guess most people get it fitted to warm the engine up in the morning hey? Can't think of a other purpose.

Warm it up or cool it down in the summer.
IMPORTANT!!!
Don't confuse ignition sense with key sense.
Key sense is as above ignition sense will give you 12V+ on ignition, crank and engine run. Alarms need it so they can't be armed when the engine is running.

Won't forget that.Any change in polarity on ingnition sense,or does it just ground when you insert the key?

Grounds on most vehicles that have it mainly the above and US vehicles. Some, Range Rover 02-07 it was POS (+).
