I have a 4105v and a smart start.... I have installed a smart start in the past but am confusing myself ...probably again...

Question:

Viper shows and ESP port and a D2D port...(red) beside light jumpers

Smart Star has 3 plugs...black...brown and white...

I cant figure out whether the brown wire or white goes to D2D or the Black goes to ESP

I dont think I have to use both ESP and D2D...

So my question is Brown to D2D or white...?

And do I use Black ESP ?

Am I making myself clear?

I also noticed my smart start doesn't have loops as stated ....It has a short grey wire and a short white wire...

are these supposed to be loops and cut if using RSR?

I have no bypass kit...

installing in a 2006 Crown Victoria P71

Use the black plug on the Viper, red and black SmartStart to same colours on Viper H1, ignore the short grey and white wires.

SO I don't use the Red plug or the white?

I use the black on ESP port... and not the red or white...

Additional help...

Red 4 pin port, Bitwriter/ESP2 or D2D programming
The Red 4-pin plug may be configured as a Bitwriter/ESP2 or D2D port.
The factory default is Bitwriter/ESP2 mode.

To use as D2D mode follow the below steps:
1. Make sure WHITE/ Blue activation wire is grounded.
2. Power the unit up. The system LED flashes for 5 seconds to confirm D2D mode change.
3. Remove the WHITE/ Blue wire from ground.

To change from D2D to Bitwriter/ESP2 mode:
1. Make sure the WHITE/ Blue activation w ire is grounded.
2. Power the unit up, the system LED turns on solid for 5 seconds to confirm Bitwriter ESP2 mode change.
3. Remove the WHITE/ Blue wire from ground.

The procedure con be repeated to toggle from one mode to the other.

Hey Howie,

I have the same problem as him.

I have the 4x03 module and I am also trying to connect Dsm350 to the module. I have solid amber light and green light on the DSM350 but the problem is I can’t smart start the car on my phone. Only lock and unlock work.   There are 4 pin white, 4 pin brown, 3 pin black plugs from DSM350

I used the white and black plug and plug them into 4x03 module on the black and red port.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thank you.
