Hello,
I'd like to add one to my Honda Ridgeline. I removed one of the power accessory sockets (it's not a lighter) and plan on using female wire terminals on both ends to connect the USB socket to the cars existing plug.

Question 1: what gauge wire do I use on this jumper? It appears to be 16 going into it

Question 2: off this same wire coming off the factory power plug, I'd like to power my 12v plug and play xm radio.

It's ok to go from big wire to small correct? Should I use socket plug negative terminal for a ground or find a spot on the chassis?

Thank you
