Back in 2007, I found a barn queen van..1989 E350 that had been customized extensively.

After letting it mostly sit for the past 5 yrs..Im getting it ready to put back on the road. Im trying to clean up the wiring under the dash..and found an original Clifford alarm had been installed.

I want to completely remove this thing..but am having difficulty figuring out what goes to where after disconnection. Id rather know what Im getting into before taking it out than killing the vehicle and needing professional help getting it running again. It has an actual 12,232 miles on it (Grin).   If you would look at the photos and see if you might have some suggestions or links for a wiring diagram..Id be greatly appreciative.

Much obliged

Gunner

Oh..I called Clifford..and they only have diagrams from about 2002 onwards so while they were trying to be helpful...no luck there.

Follow the wiring and disconnect.
The photos two relays, these will either be ignition and starter cuts, rejoin the cut leads or lock unlock relays, again join the cut leads.

There are (3) relays. One close to the control, and 2 more screwed to the top of the heater duct. What would the third one be?

No idea, your only course of action is to trace the wiring. Cut nothing until you've done that.

Man, that IS an old system. I remember installing the last of those style security systems and off memory, in picture 4 of yours, the relay with the plug socket and the mounting hole tab should be the starter interupt relay. The other relays with the crimped on ends are probably for the door locks. I think the old/old systems only had negative trigger outputs for door locks but trace the wiring down.
If you have the time I "may" have some old wiring diagrams in a binder I kept from years ago. I'll look and see what I have. If you can, see if there is a model number or name of the system on the control unit.

Thanks. I traced everything I could and started clipping wires one wire at a time. I found a pair of wires with a jumper in them, and clipped out the Clifford wiring, then made the splice. So far..I think,...think Im go to go.

Much obliged gentlemen
