So I read and researched over and ove I'm not a stranger to remote starts this is my fourth now but this one I am just struggling with.

07 envoy Denali
Avital 5303
Xpresskit xk01 bypass

Here's what I have going on.
Xk01 d2d with the purple going to the odb purple

My power locks do nothing with the avital remote work fine with my oem. I hear it click but the locks are useless.

If I start the truck with the key then turn it off it will remote start briefly then security light comes on and shuts off. I tried leaving the key in the ignition and unplugging the xk01 since I rarely take my key out any way and that changed nothing.

The xk01 was suppose to programmed to my truck prior to delivery.

Do I have to tell either unit it's in d2d mode if so how?

Or am I missing something else?

First, your truck has the Passlock2 immobilizer system.  It is resistor based and internal to the ignition switch cylinder.  Your
key does not have a chip in it, so leaving it in the ignition switch won't help when testing.

Assuming that the XK01 was flashed with the correct AMDL firmware, you should be all set if you follow the Type 1 install
diagram and do the Type 1 programming successfully.

You might be correct in your assessment of the D2D connection issue.  With some Avital units, the 4 Pin D2D port
does double duty and if it is not switched to DBI D2D mode, you will have issues.  Below is the way to switch modes :

Avital BitWriter/ESP to DBI mode port change over.

To use as D2D mode follow the below steps:
1. Remove all power from the Avital R/S brain.
2. Make sure Avital's WHITE/ Blue activation wire is grounded.
3. Power the unit up. The system LED flashes for 5 seconds to confirm D2D mode change.
4. Remove the WHITE/ Blue wire from ground.  ( Do this cleanly, without pulsing the WHITE/ Blue wire.)

If the LED goes solid Red for 5 seconds, do the above steps again to switch to D2D mode.

Thank you for your reply.

That was what I was looking for no where in the avital or xpresskit manuals does it say how to put it into d2d which makes no sense since its a vital step.

Call it Directed job security...  They really don't make much info available to the general public.
