Hello all, looking for input from someone with experience in 2013 F-150 r/s install. Have a family friend that recently had a shop install an Autostart AS-2471-TW into his truck....everything working great except he would like his heated seats to come on with r/s. When he approached them about this, he was told this is not possible in this generation of Ford trucks with the model that they had installed, and recommended he now purchase a Smart Start model to get the heated seat feature he wants. I've installed a number of the Autostart modules, although never with the heated seat, and know that they have options for activating different features. Two questions....are heated seats on remote start a possibility on a '13 F-150 and, if so, why would a Smart Start model be more capable of performing this than a regular two way remote start module? Any information on this much appreciated.....Al

The heated seats are controlled via the can network. I don't believe that any of the module manufacturers offer heated seat control via data. You would have to hard wire the connections to the heating element at each seat.
