Anyone have the install manual for a viper 5305v? The closest I can find online is a Spanish version... And that doesn't help me a whole lot.

Sounds like the remote start activation input (11 WHITE/ BLUE ** (-) REMOTE START ACTIVATION INPUT) is connected to the lock wire.
Or there is a short internally in the unit connecting the lock to the activation.
A temporary work around as long as you don't hit lock twice is to set the Menu 3 Manu Item 5 Activation Pulse: 1 (default) to 2.

Otherwise send it back for replacement or open it up and find the more than likely joined solder connection and un-bridge it.

Hey guys. I'm new to this site. Can't seem to find any detailed diagrams on the viper 5305v. Im pretty good at wiring and electrical, so i bought this thing thinking it wouldnt be a problem. Boy was i wrong. I have what was sent from viper in the box, but they act like they don't want to help anyone but authorized dealers. I'm attempting to put it in a 2004 ram hemi.... any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's not an act, it's the way it is lol. Need to be an authorized installer/shop or no warranty and/or support from them.
Heck, even shops who dont sell enough get no support.

That's crazy. We are still customers. But I guess they hide behind all the red tape that is liability due to faulty installs, etc....tge good old information highway is only good when the info is there.

So where is the remote start activation wire supposed to be hooked up to? Does this go to a momentary valet switch?

If pulsed a ground, this wire will allow the engine to continue running (or start) for a determined amount of time. It's not a necessary connection, rather a convenience. You can use a momentary switch as you asked.

Doesn't need to be hooked up. Unless you want to use a momentary button, one side hooked up to ground for R/S activation or for take over, or use oem factory remote to start with the lock (-) from vehicle for a additional means of controlling the aftermarket R/S. Max setting is 2 pluses on the input for this model Specific other models have the max setting of 3. Like the Responder One 4203(v,p,x) has the 3 pulses setting on the input for R/S activation.
