Hi. Looking to install a basic DEI alarm system on 2007 4runner SR5 which came with only keyless entry (no factory alarm). No remote start at this time. Probably going with Viper or Avital but not set on one yet.

Does anyone know which wires on the alarm system will need to be connected as I know there will be many wires which may not be needed.

thanks for any help!

I think i figured out most of the wires I will need after doing some more research.

One other question. Do I need to hook up the starter kill relay or can I leave that out of the install?

thanks.

It's a theft deterrent feature. If someone forces the ignition switch to turn (or turns with the key), the starter kill will prevent the starter from engaging if the alarm is armed.

If you don't care about this feature, you can leave it disconnected.
