Horn relay in Avital/Viper install Honda Civic

My 1993 Si Hatchback was stolen, crashed in police chase, and recovered. I am in the process of installing an Avital 3100 alarm system, and have it mostly done, but the instructions say:

        Horn honk 3-pin connector

"This wire outputs a single pulse when arming the system and two puls-
es when disarming the system. This wire will also output pulses for 30
seconds when the system is triggered or if panic mode is activated. If the vehicle has a (+) horn circuit, a standard automotive SPDT relay or a relay assembly package (p/n 8617) must be used"

Several wiring diagrams have led me down the wrong path color-code wise, and I haven't been able to find the horn wire that they say is in the steering column, but now I see there is a relay for the horn under the hood, along with others, right side, near the firewall. Also, the "blue/red, or gray" listed in the schematic, may be gray between the steering column and the relay (is there another relay under the dash?)

The tech-sheet says:
   OEM horn: blue/red or gray (-) steering column harness

so it may be a moot point because it says this is negative

I believe I have to re-route the horn wire (from the horn button) to the number 86 terminal on the relay, (or ANOTHER relay??) ground the 85 terminal, and supply a new 12v source to terminal 30, and then connect the horn to terminal 87 (or 87a), but I can't find where to start. (and am on very shaky ground)

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

I believe the Horn trigger at the steering column should be negative. The best way to find it is with using a meter. I can't be positive on the color but you should be able to find a 12 volt wire at the column that goes to ground when you press the horn button.

Never trust the wire colors listed, always test the wiring.

If the horn works when you press the steering wheel horn button then you will find a wire at the column. If by chance the horn is positive then you will need to build a relay to go from neg to pos.
