My wife seems to be prone to starter grind. I read in the owners manual about an optional starter anti-grind. I've seen quite a few connection pics through search and they are quite a bit old
Can someone list the 4816 wire to relay pin list or link me to an image to get this installed? Really appreciate it! My wife's starter thanks you!
Assuming the 2014 CR-V. Easy enough to implement. You will need a 30/40 Amp SPDT relay with harness. Wire as follows :
Relay Pin 85 to Viper Dark Blue (-) Status Output
Relay Pin 86 to Viper thick Pink ( which goes to CR-V Ignition1 )
Relay Pin 87a to Key side of cut CR-V Starter wire
Relay Pin 30 to vehicle side of cut CR-V Starter wire
Relay Pin 87 to Viper thick Violet Starter Output
Operation :
When the relay is NOT energized, the contacts Pin 87a to Pin 30 are made allowing a normal key start.
When the ignition switch is in the RUN position, +12V is supplied to Pin 86 of the relay but unless the R/S is running, has no effect because
the (-) Status Output signal is absent.
When the R/S is running, it is outputting both a (+) Ignition signal on the thick Pink wire and (-) Status Output signal, energizing the relay. This
opens the 87a to Pin 30 connection ( preventing starter grind if the key is turned to that position ) and makes the Pin 87 to Pin 30 connection.
When the Viper outputs it's Starter signal, it passes through the relay ( Pin 87 to Pin 30 ) and cranks the starter motor.
There are some valid variations to this relay wiring.
You could just connect Relay Pin 86 to +12V constant.
You could just connect the Viper thick Violet Starter Output to Relay Pin 30, joining it to the CR-V's Starter wire on the car side of the relay.

Soldering is fun!
Perfect. Thanks, sounds easy enough.
