The alarm has been working perfectly fine since I bought the car a year and a half ago from which the alarm was already installed.

I'm not sure if my issue has always been there or if I've just started noticing it but there's a significant delay on the receiving end of the key fob. Meaning when the warning sensor goes off, I don't get the alert right away. It takes a good 5 second count before the alert registers on the remote. Now when the alarm is triggered, my key fob doesn't indicate that the alarm is going off and for what reason until a good 4-5 seconds also.

Like I said, I'm not sure if this is normal and I've just never noticed it but that delay seems very significant especially considering the little amount of time a thief needs. Maybe someone can chime in with a similar alarm and let me know if this delay is normal and if not, what the issue could be.

Thanks in advance.

From what I remember that sounds about right. They have made a lot of improvements in newer models.
