Browsed through this board and have picked up a lot of great info on installation of remote start/alarm systems. with that siad I still have some question/concerns going forward.

I have a 1996 ford ranger xlt manual transmission.
Want to install an Autopage RS-727LCD alarm & remote start on it.

First, since its a manual, I need to know how to wire while still keeping it safe. on the 20 pin harness the Violet starter output wire says to connect to the Starter and be on the vehicle side of the starter cut relay. Does the 96 ranger have a starter cut realy?
Another issue is what wire to I connect the nuetral saftey switch BLACK/ white wire. when the remote start is operable this wire is grounded. So do I connect this wire to my E- brake wire, the wire on the parking brake that is grounded when engaged correct.

Also what about any saftey switches for not starting while in gear, I've read about people using magnetic switches etc. but not really sure how thats done.

I have some more questions about the door pin trigger and dome ligh but those i can probable figure it out. The more important part is how to safely wire it those two wires. and what to wire them to.

Any help would be appreciated.

The violet starter output is part of the 5 pin harness
and the WHITE/ black neutral safety switch is #1 on the 20 pin
wiring harness.

Doing more research on this forum I think I have it mostly figured out.

the 6 pin violet wire goes to the starter wire or on the starter side of a starter kill relay.

Dome light supervision run to a relay.
85 to 12 v power
86 to alarm - door pin output
87 to car dome light
30 to ground

The clutch bypass i am going to jump the last two wires on the clutch switch using a relay and sending the signal via the second starter output wire or the ground while while running wire.
two clutch wires connect to 87 and 30 respectively,
85 to 12 volt power and 86 to alarms ground while running, which gives a ground signal when remote start is instated. the second starter wire in the alarm says it does the same thing.

as for the for the E-brake,/park brake I am going to have to run the negative safety switch BLACK/ white input to it.
I need to find the wire on the E-brake that rest at Ground when the E-brake is engaged or run a relay to complete a circuit.
the neutral safety switch needs to see ground to start.

Does the Autopage system offer remote start for manual transmission vehicles? If it does not have a manual transmission option, then I would not suggest installing that remote start in your vehicle. There are many remote start systems out there that offer manual transmission mode. Side note, I am a very seasoned installer and would not install a remote start on a manual vehicle without that option. There are way too many things that can go wrong.
You may remember to do all of the safety features yourself every time but all it takes is for 1 person to grab your remote and start your vehicle with the vehicle in gear to cause many issues for you and whoever the vehicle hits.

it does not have the manual trans option however i plan to add
a neutral safety switch to the shifter. either using a magnetic sensor or proximity sensor.

well, Yesterday I wired everything up and i'm not able to get the remote start part of it work, the alarm works as it should but the remote start will not work. I have no idea why, the remote start harness was pretty simple to install i i unplugged the harness and used a dmm to verify the six wires were connected properly.

the neutral safety wire input is grounded to the chassis right now. and i used a relay to bypass the clutch, even tried starting it manually pressing the clutch but still no go.

Anyone have any suggestions or any other troubleshooting I can do.
It's really starting to make me PO'ed.

can anyone help.
right now i have the remote start wires connected as follwos.

violet wire from module to red blue starter wire on igntion harness
yellow ignition wire from module to GREEN/ purple ignition wire
pink 2nd ignition wire to 2nd vehicle ignition black green wire
brown accessory wire from module to gray / YELLOW vehicle accessory
2 red 12v power wires from module to constant 12v yellow wires.

neutral safety grounded and have clutched bypassed.
the transmitter beeps 3 times but does not start.
I programmed the remote to factory default too.
I am stumped at the moment. from what i understand, this should be a pretty easy straight forward install.

Your putting us in a difficult position. Asking us to help you do something that is very dangerous. Get a remote start made for manual transmission car and I'll bet there will be many people on here willing to help.

Yeah, that'ss understandable.I don't expect anyone to take responsibility for my work or suggest unsafe installation methods.

however, As mentioned before, I planned from the beginning to wire it as safe as possible and add a proximity senor to the shifter, so it wont start in gear. Clutch bypass has a relay so only is bypassed during remote start process. E-brake is also connected to the neutral safety switch wire.

I've wired many things in cars like aux fog lights, stereos, amps
PW door locks and windows and regular alarms but had never done a remote start before. this site has a wealth of info and really good write ups and diagrams.

As it turns out, because of my lack of experience in remote start systems, and missing an important programming paper. the issue was as simple as having to program it to a certain starting setting.
whether it be the tach setting or voltage detection or timer start run setting etc. what a rookie move. I am just glad it works and now i have it in valet mode until my proximity sensor is delivered.
