Hi guys working on a customer f150. Installing a Compustar remote starter, got everything working fine. But now he wants his puddle lights to come on when unlock like his factory fob. Does anyone know location of the wires and color code. Or were will it be easier to tap in to them with out taking the door apart. Thanks in advance.

At the Electrical connector for the mirror you will have:

Pin 10 for the turn signal power
Pin 11 for the puddle light power
Pin 8 for the ground on both lights
Verify these wires with a test light!

Wire colors vary but these wire positions in the plug are from a 2013 F150

Thanks for the quick response. Is the electrical connector for the window underneath the dash or were can I find that?

If the puddle lights come on with dome light, then you just need to hook up the dome light supervision.

Dome light turns on when you unlock using your compustar remote.

Yea that's what I thought at first. Dome lights are on passenger side kick panel. I try that and only the dome lights turn on when I unlock. But no puddle lights.

Connector for mirror is behind door panel. Verify the pin and wire color for your year and then look for it in the kick panel.
Once you verify its the same wire in the kick. Make sure both puddles light up from the drivers side if not you will need to do both sides.
