Hello,

I am wondering if is technically possible to install an alarm with remote start (e.g. Compustar or simmilar) on a VW GTI 2016 with manual transmission and Kessy.

I have contacted several dealers and they all ran away when they heard VW and Kessy.

I am wondering if they declined the job just because is manual and there are potentially liabilities involved.

Thanks

In case you are an installer in Austin TX who can take on such job, PM me with contact details

Technically. Yes. As a dealer I can say WE no longer do remote starts in manual transmission vehicles no matter what. No ifs. No ands. No buts. TOO many user error issues not following sequences causing too much technical support to our customers. As well as minor mechanical failures in manual transmission vehicle can cause serious damage to property and persons. I know not all dealers agree but I know I speak for a lot of dealers when I say it is not worth doing remote starts in manual transmission vehicles. Even those equipped with factory neutral safety switches. They can and I have seen them fail. And car dealers are QUICK to blame remote starts for factory equipment failures. Too much liability from a business sense to be worth while.
