Currently have a viper 5301 installed on a 01 silverado. Both key fobs are no longer working. Looked at replacing the key fobs and i might as well just get a new system. Was looking at viper 4706V Could i just replace the 5301 module with the 4706 module? Meaning are the connectors the same or do i have to rewaire everything? ALso using the DEI bypass module

No as the antenna has changed also for all pre 2014 models from the 6711t for the 04 suffix and previous models. to the new 6816t antenna and remotes.
You choices are as follows:

1. Use the 5301 brain as is and replace with the new antenna and remotes kit(s) 9856v LE $109.99 on ebay.

2. If you have the 18 Pin Auxiliary/Shutdown Harness. Some rewiring required and some repining of the plugs to move wires to match the new system as the wiring order for the H3 Heavy gauge wiring has been reversed in order. Also now has 6 Pin main plug instead of 12 that will need to be pin swapped to the new 6 Pin plug. Swap 18 Pin wires to 24 Pin plug of new unit. Door locks are still plug and play.
Non 18 Pin go to next option

3. Start from scratch with new system rewiring everything but the door locks and Heavy gauge R/S wires that can be repined or rewired al together.

4 . Bypass will depend on if its hardwired or D2D Mode. If hard wired then Pin Swapping will be quicker with the Viper plugs.

Bypass function is un changed regardless of Viper unit. Same bypass can be used on any alarm or remote start. Shouldn't even need to reprogram it. Just wire connections between the bypass and R/S.

But repining the wires that can be is half the time of rewiring it all.
Trust me been there and done that with all the zip strips and sticky electrical tape.

Once you re-pin a few wires and get the hang of it, it goes really fast. Just remember to bend the tang back up a little before re-inserting into new position/plug.
