Hey guys. I have a 97 Grand Cherokee with a CA-440SS. I lost my keys a while back and thus lost the transmitter too. Does the CA-440SS work with the stock vehicle FOB lock button 3 times? I have another Audiovox brand RS in another vehicle that does and was under the impression most aftermarkets RS did. Doesn't seem to though, and haven't found anything about in the manuals. Hoping just to confirm before spending $70 on a transmitter I may not actually need. Thanks.

Unfortunately no, the 3x start is more a function of the bypass than the remote start. If I were you, I would search ebay (look for ca440ss) and you can buy either a compatible remote or a system including one or more remotes for much less than $70.   It will only take you a minute to program the new remote to the vehicle.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking too after figuring out it doesn't even control the door locks at all. I have found remotes on amazon also for around 40. I also have an old Crimestopper I installed and removed from the wife's Grand Am that does have this function. I was going to put it in my other Jeep but never got around to it. I have read the Chrysler locking systems are a pain, requires multiple relays in each door. Probably why I never got around to it. Also probably why the previous owner of this Jeep opted for the cheaper system. Thanks for the help Lectric Guy
