Hey guys, I have a 2007 FJ Cruiser that had a Viper Tebow start installed when I bought it. I upgraded to a 5706v alarm/remote start. I installed the alarm, which works fine but I can't get the remote start to work.

Since it's a 2007 it doesn't have a bypass. The only time I get the remote start to work is if the key is in the on position. It will not work with the key in the ignition without it being in the on position. When I try to remote start, no error is given, it tries to stay 3x and nothing happens.

I pulled the fuse on the main harness 12v connection and grounded the door input but that really doesn't seem to do anything. The remotes were still paired.

I had a similar issue with the old remote start, but I just disconnected the positive battery terminal, remote started and it worthwhile after that. I did the same with this unit but it's not clearing the memory. The remotes still function.

Thanks for any input!

I would guess you aren't powering something up during remote start. Can you list all your connections for us please

As young Kreg plus remember, 2 ignition wires required, connect both.

Should starter 2 run from BLACK/ white to RED / black or a different connection? Right now the relay is to RED / black

Goes to BLACK/ white right at ignition

One end is connected to BLACK/ white ignition. From there, runs to relay, relay connects to RED / black.

relay pin 30 goes to BLACK/ white at the ignition switch not RED / black

Stop and read what Kreg posted earlier about the relay, it's triggered from the NEG low current starter wire on the 24 pin plug.

Did you test and verify the wires you made your connection to?
If it's wired properly as you say, it should work.
Test the outputs of the remote start wires for proper volatage during remote start.
