Hello,

I'm new to the forum and I've been outfitting a work trailer with 12 volt accessories. Started by mounting a solar panel, charge controller, battery, and LED's on the interior and exterior. I'm a contractor so I store a lot of tools and building supplies in this trailer and work in some sketch parts of town occasionally. After getting dedicated power in the trailer I had the idea about installing an alarm. Thus far I've got a Pyle 701 installed and programmed but as of now only trigger I have is the bump or shock sensor. This is where my question comes in.

What sensor would be best to protect the side door and back gate door? I'd like to use some stubby magnetic contact switches recessed into the doors aposed to pin switch esexposed and getting beat up. From my understanding magnetic contact switches are looking for a drop in resistance where the Pyle alarm is either looking for a negative or positive influence when a door is open. So not really sure if magnetic contact switches would work or how to integrate them into my set up.

Thanks for any help it will be much appreciated. I've got very limited expirence with home alarms and no expirence with car alarms minus installing the Pyle which was just 12v constant power, 12v iginition, ground, siren, parking lights, and plugging the shock sensor into the alarm body.

Thanks again and Happy New Year!
