2007 Impala RXT not communicating

I have a 2007 Impala with a xl202 and dball installed as a RXT function. The avital fob will lock/unlock the doors and will send the signal to the dball to start the car. The led on the dball flashes the correct led sequence indicating its trying to start the car, that occurs three times. The car will not remote start using the dball, it will however remote start with the factory fob. This system worked for a year until the check engine light appeared. I cleared the check engine light with my obd II app on my phone and cannot get the remote start to work.
