Need some information on an Remote Start install for a 03 Chevy 2500hd. Using a Avital 411 and Dball2 bypass. Have done the installs on 2000 and 02 models I am formilier with them, but when looking on the form for the 03, it calls for powering the second accessory wire (brown). Why is this needed on the 03 and not on later years? Also is the Dball2 a good bypass, habit used it before. Couldn't find on idatalike a model for a 2500hd.

I personally don't use dei bypass modules but they seem to take care of everything that idatalink does . They also seem a little better on price . Emulating everything the ignition switch does while vehicle is running is ideal . If it means powering acc 2 I'd go ahead and do it . I believe it controls the radio but beyond that I'm not sure . I read on another comment that D2D drops tach occasionally . I'd get tach behind instrument cluster as opposed to relying on data

Thanks for the replay. I have seen where people say they loose tech signal on the D2D connection on the DBall2. I was looking at Idatalink but there site shows for a 1500hd which going off most chevys the 2500hd not much different. As far as the accessory 2 wire I guess I'll go ahead and hook it up since it does have the digital climate control, just be on safe side.
