I've searched the forums and have not run across an answer to my problems, so I'll post them here.
I'm putting a DEI 711T keyless entry into a 2003 base Impala and have mastered the door locks (not bad for a rookie :)), however, I'm confused about the horn and parking light output connections- the wiring diagram I got here shows using the white wire on the pink plug of the BCM. This plug has like 3 white wires. Are they all light connections? I don't want to burn anything up doing this. Ditto the horn output- there are a bunch of black wires at the 2 plugs mentioned on the diagram page here.
A second concern is the trunk release. My release button is not powered until the key is on, so the remote will not activate it unless the ignition is on. Is there any way to either rewire the switch or make another connection for this output?

use a meter to test the parking light wire..
if you show 12 volts, then you can hook up the alarm to that wire. also you migt be able to find it by the switch. my notes are for a 2002-Parking Lamp BROWN / WHITE (+) AT JUNCTION BLOCK IN PASSENGER KICK
as far as the trunk release, you can still hook up the wire. the key only has to be on for the inside button to work. i show it as a-Trunk Release L BLUE (+) * AT BCM ON DRIVER SIDE INST PANEL #231 positive trigger.
these notes are for a 2002. double check all wires with a meter.
if your output for the trunk release is a neg. output, then you will need a relay.....you can find diagrams off to the left...<------

Thanks for the reply, I found the parking light wire and it works OK. I'll look into the trunk release issue as time permits (ran out of time and got kicked out of the garage by Mrs. 9C3's truck!).

All problems solved (except the horn, and I don't want it to beep on arm/disarm anyway). Here is what I found for the next guy that needs the information:
Parking light :
An important note is that the DEI unit is preset for a positive parking lamp output, which is incompatible with the Impala. There is a jumper than must be moved on the unit (see DEI’s directions for this, you move it from pins 1-2 to 2-3, or maybe it is from 2-3 to 1-2, you are basically reversing the jumper). I found the white parking light wire is the next to the last one on the pink plug on the BCM (there are 2 other white wires in that harness) that is on the driver’s side of the plug as it is plugged into the BCM when the BCM is in place. This will accept the negative output of the control unit.
Trunk release:
The trunk release button on my car only works when the key is on, so to get this to go without the key being on required I tap in at another connection, which required a positive output. There is a diagram as mentioned above by draasch in the left column of this page (car security/door locks) to effect this polarity reversal. I mounted the relay under the ashtray and took 12 volts via a fuse holder from the accessory power outlet wire (opposite the cigarette lighter- it is hot all the time). I found the light blue wire located at the BCM large gray plug (the blue wire is next to an orange wire, and is next to last from the driver’s side end when the plug is plugged in & the BCM is in place) to tap into to connect to the #87 terminal of the relay.
I'll be glad to help anyone else doing this type of install.
