Greetings,

I have an 04 Yukon I installed a Viper 5305V/DBALL2/529T/Smart start in over the weekend and everything works great except for the remote start not working. I have attached the Connections Template (thanks offroadzj). DBALL2 is flashed with vehicle firmware. When I press the remote start button on the remote I get 5 parking light flashes which according to the shutdown diagnostics indicates a hood shutdown. My hoodpin will trigger the alarm when tripped so I don't know why it doesn't work for the RS? Do I have a wire connected wrong or a wire not connected that needs to be?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Shutdown diagnostics are different from remote start fault codes. The parking lights flashes you're seeing when you push the remote start button are a fault code, and with Viper five flashes usually means the brake input is active. Test the brown brake input wire to make sure there's no voltage on it until you push the brake pedal. Also, turn on the parking lights and ensure that there's no voltage on the brake wire when the parking lights are on. If you're finding voltage present when it shouldn't be, it might mean you're connected to the wrong vehicle brake wire. It could also be caused by a faulty brake switch, a problem with trailer brake wiring or even the wrong type of brake light bulb.

kaezoo...thanks so much for your help. I checked the wire at my brake switch and confirmed it was the correct wire. It turned out my connection was loose. All is well and everything works perfect now.

I tried Google searching but maybe I used the wrong terms but is there a list of all the parking light fault codes and their meanings?

Thanks again.

Usually it's in the owner's manual. I don't know why the 5305's manual doesn't include it.

5 blinks:   brake
6 blinks:   hood
7 blinks:   manual transmission mode error
8 blinks:   neutral safety switch or toggle switch
