If you are not too concerned about vehicle theft, why not just bypass the Passlock2 system. All it takes is a quality resistor, wire strippers, a soldering iron, some solder and electric tape or heat shrink tube. Here is a link in which fellow member racing_bidule explains how :

Soldering is fun!

I agree with kreg. Anti-theft is nice but not when it becomes anti-drive. Any feature that can disable my car and keep ME from using it is going in the garbage can where it belongs.

Keep the vehicle locked, solder in the appropriate resistor and forget passlock ever existed. GM vehicles have enough issues with fuel pumps and spiders and vacuum leaks etc.

If ya want true security a soldered hidden toggle switch on a coil control wire or fuel pump relay feed would be far superior.

If the issue is in the barrel, bypass the passlock with resitor and relays (ideally) should be good to go.
If the issue is at the bcm , get the car fixed. Even if you were to do the bypass manually, it would end up messing up again one day.
