So I am about to install a compustar ft7000 remote start and security in my 2000 Cadillac Deville. I am undecided and would like some input on whether to use the low current ignition harness (1amp draw max per wire) or the higher amperage harness for the install. FYI the alarm module has 2 different harnessl. I tested my ignition and starter relays at the fuse box and only draw 0.14 amps per relay to switch so im tempted to use the low current harness. Does anyone have any input on this? I would appreciate the help guys.

The +12V constant power wire in the Deville's ignition switch harness is rated at 15 Amps. The FT7000's CN3 harness +12V input is rated at 3 Amps. Think I would go with the CN1 harness, connect the +12V input wires to a good battery source and possibly step down the CN1 12 gauge ignition output wires to 18 gauge if the Deville's wires are thin.

Well u managed to swing me over to CN1. Thank you, too bad i still have to wait on the install till the bypass module gets here..
Any thoughts on powering up my 2 accessory wires with the one output and a diode?

You may not need the Brown ACC wire( Bulldog Security does not list it ) but I always power them. While splitting the Compustars Accessory output with two 6 Amp diodes might work OK, I would go with a relay. With the Compustar, I would use CN5 Pin 20 (-) Accessory Output to control the relay.

NOOOOOO. wth...

First of all your vehicle is a "HIGH CURRENT" application so use the high current harness.

Second of all the CM7000 has three SELECTABLE high current outputs. You do not need to split an output and isolate it. Read the manual. Look at the CN1. It has everything you need to power up 3 secondaries. Sheesh.
