Need some advice on an install I've just finished up recently. Install was an Avital 4113 w/Directed DB3 module, into a 2006 Subaru B9 Tribeca. Install went well, everything working fine with remote start....sounds like the starter is not dropping out quick enough when motor catches. Currently have it programmed to tach (wired direct from DB3, learned tach signal fine), but have also tried it on virtual tach with same result. I do not have a bitwriter to modify crank times on virtual tach setting. Any input much appreciated....Al.

i'd just hardwired the tach (purple/white on 4113) to the car. red/white @ instrument cluster, green 30 pin plug, pin 28 . I'm not much for running tach through viper bypass modules. Ive had several drag the starter

Thanks mgoetz…what's your thoughts/opinion on trying voltage sense setting.....is that any more likely to disengage starter any quicker? Al

In Kansas is gets cold in the and having anything less than a tach hardwired will fail at some point, especially on "older-ish" cars. Ive been burned by virtual tach, voltage and even running it through the dballs. Warmer climates can get away with that stuff. Viper imo have always been bad at the none tach hook up.

Happy to report that the suggested hardwire of the tach worked beautifully, starter drops out promptly as soon as the engine catches. Thanks again for the help mgoetz! Have another question regarding this install....on two occasions now with this vehicle, under remote start, can't unlock the doors with the factory fob and end up having to use the key in the door to gain access. Every other time after remote starting, keyless works fine....going to change fob battery just to make sure it's not intermittent signal from it. Any other ideas....possibly factory security system related in some way? Thanks, Al

Changing fob battery offered no solution, sometimes factory fob will unlock doors while under r/s....sometimes not. The 4113 fob will certainly unlock the doors....just trying to understand why the factory one is so hit and miss, when the DB3 details for this application indicate OEM remote remains active. Any ideas much appreciated...Al
