I installed a Viper 4105 keyless entry/remote start system on my 97 Chevy pickup about 6 months ago. I also installed the DEI 529T window module which I wired to roll my windows up with the door lock pulse (love it, works great.) I have some relays leftover from the install and would like to use the AUX controlled-duration trunk release output to roll both windows partially down. I'd like to use my leftover relays as oppose to buying another 529T module to achieve this. Below are two rough diagrams I drew up:

I'm assuming one relay (right side) is not wise...I haven't tested the window motors for current draw but it's likely they're close/exceeding the 30A relay rating. The Viper unit install guide states the aux output is rated for 200mA current max, i.e. one relay coil. So the left side diagram is my attempt at energizing both coils without overloading the aux circuit. I believe the diode I have drawn in would prevent that window down circuit from energizing the other relay if I was to roll that one window down with the factory switch. Would I need other diodes in the left side diagram?

Would either of these work, or am I way off here?

Both of your diagrams look Ok to me, in that they will work and provide what you're after. The one thing I see is that the diode(s) in the motor circuit will need to be rather large, probably 10 Amp-ish each. Personally, I'd probably go with two relays one for each window, no diodes, and parallel the coils.

Relay coils are right around 120Ma, so two will be .240Ma. While not recommended, I've been running two coils on the .200 Ma IGN output on a DEI 551 remote start for 7 years at the rate of about 10 cycles a week, and it is still working. Your window usage will probably be about the same, 10 cycles a week.

I would definitely put an anti-spike diode across at least one of the coils, band towards (+) if you run two coils in parallel.

No diodes used in the last working diagram? I have a 99 Tahoe with a viper 5900 with remote start. I'm currently tinkering with some ideas, I'd like to use relays to roll windows down/up without buying the module (since it looks to be cheaper maybe) and also to power the radio when remote started. I was hoping to use an output that rolled the windows up when system is armed, and used other outputs for the other things (the red/wh aux not being used atm). I'm fairly new to this, I had done some research in order to remove alarm when it activated as I was working on my truck and I didn't have a working transmitter. Then realized how much I needed power lock /unlock so I reinstalled, also added remote start fairly easily as the ribbon harness was still there but never used. I was missing the secondary harness (6 pin with red conn) but was just able to locate the proper connectors so I can make one. Any help would be awesome ty
