CM900AS, 2000 Ford F-250 Diesel

Hello all. Newbie here looking for some help. I just installed a CM900AS into my 2000 F250 with the 7.3 diesel. I'm trying to figure out how to wire it to the wait to start light to wait for the light to go out. I found the wire on the truck side but I can't find a wire in the CM900AS diagram that will work with that circuit. Any help will be appreciated. TIA.

You can program the CM900-as Feature 4-10 to Option 4. That will set the CN3 Pin 11 Pink wire to be
looking for a (+) Wait To Start signal. However, it looks like the trucks WTS signal is (-) and noted below :

Glow Plug Wire Can Be Found As BLACK/PINK (-) In Pin 37 Of A 40 Pin Connector On Firewall (Lower Of 3 Connectors.)

I would test to verify this info/signal output. If it is a (-) signal then a simple negative to positive signal
conversion with a relay could be used to provide the CM900-as with the (+) signal it is looking for.

Most people just set a fixed X second Diesel delay instead of using a WTS signal.

Forgive my ignorance as this is my first Compustar install. How do I program this?

I have verified that the signal is a + signal when the wait to start light goes out.

I would, but I live in a cold climate and in the winter the glow plug on time is longer than the summer.

I'm assuming you don't have the OP-500 Programmer or the ADS USB programming cable. Either item will make things very easy but...

You can make the programming changes if you have 4 or 5 button remotes paired with the CM900-as. This procedure is outlined in the CM900 Master Guide., link below :

There should have been a one page guide with the instruction in the box, too.

First press the Unlock button on one of the remotes. The rest of the procedure starts on Page 45 and depends on whether you have 1-way or 2-way remotes and 4 or 5 buttons.

A few things to remember. Timing is critical. The 4-10 Feature and Options are described on Page 40. Having the Parking Light and Siren/Horn connected helps a bunch. Practice makes perfect, you might have to do it a few times to get it right.

Thank you for your help. I went ahead and purchased the OP500. Seems like it is going to be the easiest way to mess around with this system. I'm sure I will want to play with other features and settings in the future.
