Can anyone give me some good advice on what I should and should not do when it comes to installing my cheap whistler sk-3003 to my 1993 ford taurus lx.  Does anyone know where the wires are that I need to splice into?

I do install all my car audio components but all these wires on this thing has got me intimidated.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

  • ALWAYS test the wires prior to hook up with a DMM
  • Use solder and tape for all connections
  • start the install systematically by starting from the front of the vehicle and working your way back into the trunk area
  • mount your CPU in the spot where you think it should go and attach the harnesses and then connect them to the target wires. This way you reduce the amount of excess length on the wires
  • Here is the wiring diagram for your vehicle.

hook up the + siren wire to siren output wire on your brain and chassis gound the other wire on the siren. These wires should not be interfaced with the battery.

the red wire from the siren goes to the output from the brain....the black wire from the siren goes to chassis ground...If the siren is still goin off make sure you did not connect the main power to the brain yet or if u did make sure the transmiters are programed so u can disarm it..
