I am trying to find a way to get to the door pin wires without taking apart the door. I know that the wires are inside the door, but I'd like to avoid taking the door apart at all costs. I can't figure out which wire it is on the wire harness coming out of the door.
If it is impossible then I will take the door apart, but any help in this matter would be appreciated.
Also I read in a thread about the domelights coming on when the factory system is disarmed. Is this true? I have a GMDL4 but I'm not sure if this disarms the system and alows the lights to come on. If it doesn't then I need to know where the domelight wire is. And would the disarming of the factory alarm trigger the perimiter lighting (drl, step lights and reverse lights)?

You have to use the GMDL4 for door trigger unless you want to goto all the door physically. The 03 GM Trucks are all data bus.

good luck

Right, I know the GMDL4 works the door locks, but I'm looking for the wire for the door pins.. to show when the door is opened. Does the DL4 do this? I didn't see anything about it in the instructions. Sorry for the confusion.

You can use the underdash courtesy light for door trigger.

If you're using that doorlock module, and you have it hooked up so that it disarms the factory alarm when you're remote starting.......it will turn on the domelight for a moment.....but if it's a quality doorlock module, it'll have some kind of wiring setup so that it will hide this from the alarm. Typically, you'll run the courtesy light wire into the module, and the module will go out to the alarm's door trigger....the module only allows the alarm to see the domelight when it is supposed to.

Or, if you simply don't connect the wire that wants to see a ground when the remote start is on, the domelight will never come on at all during remote start. However, the factory horn will honk briefly every time you remote start, which some people like, and some people don't.

if you use the gmdl4 you can use the pink (+) dome light wire.
