Hey Everyone,

I am about to instal a remote start alarm Combo in my Wifes 2000 RAV4. I noticed Chris Luongo gave a great and very detailed account of some shortcuts in a previous post for the 2001 - 2003 and am wondering if there are any similiar shortcuts on the 2000. It seems the 96 - 2000 model years are the same but they redesigned it in 2001, so there are some differences.

Any help is appreciated!

Hey there. Thanks for the compliment! I've only worked on a couple of the '96-2000 version, so I don't remember too much. From what I remember, though, the car was even simpler than the new ones, and the information from DEI was surprisingly quite accurate.

   *This vehicle is equipped with a Transponder Anti-Theft Security System. Use Universal Alarm Bypass Module part # 2x402 where X can be any number. **The data link connector is below the drivers side fuse box.
