Has anyone ever installed a push button switch on a 1993 Ford Escort (standard)? This guy has an S2000 Push button switch that he brought from Nopi. He lost the instructions and wants to try to install it in his Escort. Can anyone help?

Worked on a number of S2000 vehicles. The Push Button switch on Honda S2000 has one wire connect to the Push Button Switch and it's the starter wire. You still had to insert the key to the Ignition switch and turn it ON Ignition position then press the Push Button Switch to start the Vehicle. You need to cut the Starter Wire and connect both side wires to the switch. It's very simple, or unless you got a different switch with more wire taps on it, is it?

Can I just ask what the hype is about this? I'm not bashing it or anything, just wondering if there's something that I'm missing? If you still have to put the key to the run position, what's the difference if you just keep turning the key to start the car?

You can wire it so all you need to do is flip a switch or have a function on the alarm system that will engage the ign & acc wires so all you need to do is press the button to start. THis is more work but this removes the key from the cylinder if you don't want it.

Jeff, do tell how this would be achieved. What kind of wiring would I have to do? The switch I have came with a relay and 4 leads off the relay. One to the starter side, one to the key switch side and one to a constant. and the last to the switch. The other end of the switch goes to a ground. Is this right? Help. Thanks in advance!
