Hello, just wanted to know if anyone knows what wire should be hooked up to get the parking lights to work right with my alarm?works fine when arming but stays lit and causes interior lights and chime to activate when disarming? I assume I am hooking up incorrectly! Ive tryed everything and dont want to butcher my wires!

Well, we need some more information:

1. What kind of '99 Saturn?
2. What kind of alarm do you have? Or is it the factory one?

I do know that on some keyless entry systems or alarms, when you disarm, the parking lights stay lit for 10 seconds or so.

There are a few alarms that leave the parking and dome lights to stay on after disarming, as a car-finder feature. I'm not familiar with a mat6l, but it probably has it.

Are you sure they don't shut down after 30 seconds?

thats usually what happens when the running lights are on. Which is what most alarms turn on "illuminated entry"...

The dash lights are on because the parking lights are on, and the door chime dings because the interior lights are on. The alarm may turn on both the parking lights and the interior lights, this would make the car think that door was open and the parking lights are on, hence the dinging. If this doesn't shut off after you arm the alarm or after 30 seconds, or so, then you may have hooked it up wrong or the alarm could be bad.

all I know is that ive tryed everything that you could think of except just getting a new alarm.the alarm has seperate wires for the illuminated entry. I hear the relay click when the alarm is armed and the lights flash one time.then they go right out. but when I disarm it ,the alarm dhirps twice and the lights stay on

ok when you disarm the system and you get into the car close the door and turn the engine on and take off what happens? do the parking lights stay on as you drive? They should be off .Most systems will stay on for a period of time but they should turn off. What's the longest that you've waited? give it a minute at least. That's all programming involved I think maybe you can reduce the time or even turn the feature off like some autopage alarms.

Reminds me of saying I've heard in the past which is in fact one of my biggest flaws cause I don't do it half the time either.
